Africa de Sud.

Mereu mi-am imaginat țara precum bogăția și civilizația Africii. Johannesburg are toate acestea, dar să adăugăm și constantul pericol. Am fost mult avertizați să nu mergem singuri, să fim atenți la genți că cine știe. Well, aterizezi aici după o noapte lungă nedormită, apoi cu puțin noroc, nu ai dormit nici înainte, deja ești la a 24-a oră de activitate. Și acum ceri informații la recepție despre ce safari să alegi, you know, ca-n emisiunile de pe Animal Planet! Lion and Rhino park ne e recomandat.

Oricât am stat sub duș și am aplicat machiaj șoferul tot a râs de noi, că suntem obosite. No kidding. Lasă că dormim la întoarcere, acum admirăm drumul. Suficient de lung încât să observ că încă mai au puțin din organizarea britanică. Vezi căsuțe din cărămidă ordonate frumos, dar ce am mai observat e că aduce mult a America.

Și acum să și menționez ce mi s-a spus, că eu compar tot cu SUA, pai ador țara, normal să văd mereu dacă apare una care să îmi placă mai mult. Ah, cu România compar prețurile și cu părere de rău, mai mereu e mai ieftin acasă.

Accentul lor e impunător, jucăuș și plăcut. Vorbesc și Africans, din cât am auzit seamănă cu olandeza. Majoritatea sunt de culoare și-s cei mai frumoși de până acum. O duc bine, cel puțin o parte din ei, prețuri mari la magazine și toți sunt bine îmbrăcați.

Am prins festivități de ziua lui Mandela, printre altele, era un concert chiar în fața hotelului și am ascultat muzica africană cât a fost ziua de lungă! Este atât de plăcută!

Manâncă dovleac gătit în fel și fel de moduri, iar eu care credeam că sunt cartofi dulci…

Regret tot mai mult momentele în care spuneam ” ce le trebuie și astora din UK să conducă pe dreapta? Hop și ei”. Tot mai mult descopăr că Asia și Africa preferă partea dreaptă, ceea ce ne face 50-50 până la urmă.

Comitetul de primire! Serios, nu glumesc! Cum fiecare poartă are un paznic, așa au și ei aici … și când spune “bună ziua”, ridică aripile!

Plătim intrarea și la creșa de animale, deci vedem un leu, o panteră și un leopard. Floare la ureche!

Până ajungem acolo și îi vedem cum sar și aleargă. Așa și … noi intrăm în cușca aia mică?! Ok. Apoi ei îți tot spun că poți să le atingi și să stai mai aproape. Dar când îți aruncă o privire cu ochii ăia, parcă te-au mâncat deja!

După cum i-am spus mamei recent, așa cum la fiecare zbor mergi cu responsabilitatea pentru viața ta, așa mergi și aici, cu riscul că poate te zgârie, te mușcă. Eh, am trecut și peste asta!

Nu m-am gândit ieri că azi o să fiu aici. Și cât de frumos și liniștit e! Ghidul nostru e simpatic rău, dintr-o glumă în alta! Ne spune cum, cât și unde se împerechează animalele, făcând multe comparații cu omul. Își permite, ce să mai, el, cu 4 domnișoare.

În centrul orașului practic nu am ajuns, doar de departe i-am văzut luminile. Am intrat într-un market din apropiere, spre surprinderea mea au Spar!

Momentul ăla când vezi ceva de acasă și brusc te simți acolo!

Piața cu Statuia lui Mandela pare să fie o zonă turistică dar e tare micuță, compusă dintr-un mall și câteva restaurante.

Și temperatura de toamnă târzie de aici era exact ce aveam nevoie după sauna din Abu Dhabi! Mi-au plăcut oamenii enorm de mult și mâncarea, e delicioasă! Deci să ne revedem cu bine Johannesburg, sau poate Cape Town?

Pe zborul de întoarcere am avut un grup de localnici atât de simpatici, au făcut timpul să treacă repede, repede! Și-apoi logic, ajungi “acasă” dimineața leșinat de somn, dar până treci orașul și-ajungi la al tău pat, somnul a zburat și el. Și așa te trezești făcând curățenie după alte 20h nedormite.

Dar iubesc viața asta tot mai mult pe zi ce trece! Exact ce mi-am dorit. Să pot transforma orice “aș vrea” într-un eveniment cu dată și locație.

Cineva spunea că te întorci complet schimbat după ce ajungi în celălalt capăt al lumii. Well, de unde să încep? Atunci înțelegi cât ești de mic și câte mai poți să descoperi în lumea asta. În cazul meu, Europa devine acasă și orice loc e la o dorință distanță.

English Version

South Africa.

I’ve always imagined it as the wealth and civilization oasis of Africa. Johannesburg has all these, plus the never ending danger of the streets. We were told not to go alone, to be extra careful with our pockets. Well, you land here after a sleepless night, with a little luck you didn’t even sleep before, so you’re up to the 24th hour of activity. And you find yourself at the reception asking about the Animal Planet safaris choices. They say Lion and Rhino park is the best.

No matter how long our shower was or how much make up we’ve put on, the driver still said we look so tired. No kidding. We’ll sleep on our way back, now we must study the road we’re on. They have the British order when it comes to neighborhoods. You see the bricks houses. It made me think about the US.

By the way, I was told I compare it all to the USA, eh well, I always think about a place, as if I’d live there, so obviously it has to be compared with the living conditions of the US, then with the prices in Romania, because it’s cheap.

Their accent is demanding, playful and fun. They also speak Africans, one that sounds a bit like Dutch. The majority of population is of color, they’re so beautiful and the sweetest I’ve met so far! I think they have a good life here, expensive clothes and nicely dressed people. And such happy faces.

I was there during the Mandela’s day festivities, enjoying a concert in the park in front of the hotel. Good music and lyrics full of hope and strength.

They eat pumpkin cooked in so many ways, first time I saw it I thought it was sweet potatoes. Silly me!

I regret more and more the moments I was complaining about the British and their driving on the right side … now I get the feeling is literally the right one. In so many countries I saw it that I feel now we’re equally divided.

So, when you get to the park, at first, you have to deal with these guys!

We pay the fee for the small animals, so it’s gonna be a cheetah, a lion and a leopard. Easy! Till we get to see them in person. You tell me I have to get in that tiny place next to the playful leopard?! Aham. Just look into those eyes. Not scary. Nope.

As I told my mom recently, the same way you wake up every morning for a flight with the responsibility of your life on the table, in the same way they can scratch or bite you in there. Well, great time, but it passed as well.

I had no idea a few days ago that I’ll be doing this now. Considering I had a different flight and I decided to change it last minute. It’s so beautiful and peaceful here. Our guide is so nice and funny, makes a joke about anything in respect to these animals around here, how they mate, how they hunt, how they rest.

In the center I didn’t go, I just saw the lights from afar. I did check out a market, Spar, one we had back home as well. Ok prices, some people say cheap, maybe, compared to Abu Dhabi or London, but not any place in Romania.

The Square with the Mandela Statue is a touristic area, simple one, with a mall and a couple of restaurants. The temperature I found there was just what I needed for a few hours even.

And the late autumn temperature that they have here it was perfect after the sauna in Abu dhabi! I loved the people, the streets and their food. So see you soon Johannesburg, or better yet, Cape Town? There is so much to do and see over there!

On the flight back I had a group of locals that made my time fly, they were so funny and polite. Of course, I got to the airport so ready to sleep, but till we passed the city I was wide awake, so there’s me, cleaning my room after another 20h of no sleep.

You can’t tell me this sunset doesn’t make you fall in love!!

I love this life, more and more everyday! Just what I wanted. To be able to turn every “I want” into a date and place. Someone was saying you come back completely changed after you go across the globe. Well, tell me about it, I went all ways and yes, you just see how tiny you are and how much there is to understand if you take a chance and break your little bubble!

There’s no “I can’t”, just “I don’t want to try hard enough”.
