După o zi minunată la plajă, în 2014 am surprins un apus minunat din capătul 1^st St, din părculeț.

Acum pe cel din Bay.

Prefer al doilea, recunosc, pentru companie. Cred că o să-mi transform călătoritul singură în vizitat persoane all year round. Îmi place să observ cum își trăiesc viața. Cum deschid frigiderul și găsesc:

• lapte uriaș
• cream cheese great value
• pâine dulce
• beagles

Cum au magazinul din colț de unde fac cumpărături și cum preferă liniștea cartierului lor, în timp ce locuiesc în Miami, la 20 min de plajă.

Încerc acum să creionez o evaluare pentru restaurante, în felul meu. Te dau banii afară din casă și te încadrezi în 35+, Lincoln Avenue te așteaptă cu orice bufet poftești, la prețuri picante, bineînțeles. Dacă ești -35, enjoy Ocean Drive.

De exemplu, am găsit unul dintre fast foodurile mele preferate, Johnny Rockets, pe 7th St, cu prețuri simpatice.

Pe Washington sau alte străduțe perpendiculare cu oceanul, 1^st– 16^th , găsești mâncare to go, burrito, quesadilla(Mexican), pizza(foarte bună). Alte fast fooduri: Dunkin Donuts, Mc Donald’s, Friday’s.  Pentru cei care se strâmbă, trust me, după ce simțiți mirosurile, vă răzgândiți complet! Și dacă nu v-am convins, sigur mâncați de nervi după ce observați câteva modele de mașini!

Eu și clasicele mele!

Eu aș face un pas în monitor doar puțin să lenevesc în iarbă, în bătaia soarelui. Who’s with me now?!

Ce să vă mai spun? Ah, da. Marketurile cu prețuri de nivel mediu ce se găsesc sunt Winn Dixie, CVS și 7eleven.

Poți observa multe în numai câteva ore de plimbare. Din felul în care vorbesc sau sunt îmbrăcați, poți înțelege și ce sumă apare pe extrasul lor bancar aș zice, după ce plase de cumpărături au sau ce tip de mâncare este în farfurie. Sunt eu puțin prea curioasă, I know.

Mai jos se poate observa priveliștea mea de dimineață! Ain’t it pretty? Some people are doing good, right? Big thanks for my host!!

Ce am mai aflat! Bărcuțele sunt locuite și cei de acolo nu plătesc nimic nimănui. Well, până la urmă.. ce să plătești când nu ai curent sau apă? Personal, aș rezista eroic o săptămână, pe căldura de acolo! Voi?

Fostul job își face simțită prezența. Ador oamenii în costum. Arogant din partea mea să nu recunosc faptul că îmi doresc și eu să stau într-o zi la cină, la o masă, într-o astfel de ținută. Știu povestea cu “cine sunt și de unde am plecat”. Dar unde o să locuiesc, habar nu am.

Ocean Drive a fost invadat de oameni de culoare în spring break. Îi știți și voi pe cei din filme cu casetofonul în ghiozdan, muzica hip-hop la maxim, cu pantalonii cu talia la genunchi, fetele cu forme pline, blugi cu fermoar desfăcut. Plini de încredere, ca de obicei.

Miami e pentru vacanță în familie, pentru luna de miere, orice-ți poftește inima găsești aici. E puțin trashy, ca să fiu sinceră, dar distracția și luxul vin la pachet cu puțin dezastru.

Când te-ai plictisit de plajă, la crocodili poți să le faci o vizită în Everglades. Recomand o mașină de închiriat, mult mai avantajos la preț, ușor de condus și, să nu uităm, poți opri când îți dorești!

În Naples ajungi în 2 ore, iar puțin despre acesta, găsești aici. În Palm Beach, tot aici și tot cam 2 ore faci.

Și Key West e tot la vreo 2 ore, mai mult de fițe dacă vrei să mergi, frumoase case colorate, plajă bună de fotografiat, cu nisipul curat alb, dar de vreo 10 m. Poți face și scuba diving aici pentru corali, dacă țin bine minte. Sau poți să pornești într-o croazieră înapoi spre Miami, pe vaporul Disnep.

Bahamas cu ferryboat’ul e accesibil, primul port în zare e Nassau, sunt croaziere de o zi sau două până acolo. Frumos, dar pe insule merită văzută numai plaja cu nisip roz, la care ajungi cu multe bărci sau cu avionul.

Festivaluri de film, de muzică, de artă, concerte, oricând se întâmplă ceva în downtown. O zi îți ajunge. Eu am fost aproape de Crăciun, deci se pot observa pe ici pe colo câteva urme de iarnă.

M-am pierdut, obviously. Am oprit un tip să întreb de direcții și am ajuns să-mi petrec după-masa cu el. Din Australia, în concediu, foarte ok domnul. Și-a facut poftele după cum mă mai trezesc și eu acționând. Adică, avea o noapte la un hotel de 5 stele doar pentru piscina de la ultimul etaj, de unde vedeai atât skylineul cât și plaja. Sună puțin nebunesc? Oh wait. Să vedeți ce planuri am eu pentru New York!

De cluburi ce să spun, nu se mai termină! Nici coada de la intrare, pe la 12 noaptea …

Aeroportul din Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood e mai frumos decât cel din Miami, are wifi, și în cazul în care aterizezi acolo poți rezerva un shared shuttle cu 20-40$, spre ce destinație finală dorești.

Aeroportul din Miami e întins, foarte întins. De la temperatura redusă nici wifi’ul nu merge. Glumesc, nu merge și punct. De aici ai metro sau bus spre Miami sau plajă, la aproximativ 2$ călătoria, dar au și diverse oferte, alegi în funcție de cât vrei să le folosești.

Miami e invadat de sud americani sau central americani, deci nu te mira dacă mai urgent ți se răspunde la o întrebare în spaniolă decât în engleză. Apoi am rămas cu o dilema … chiar așa rău se fură măi oameni buni la voi? Deci și cel mai mic bagaj era învelit în folie de plastic în aeroport pentru orice zbor către Venezuela, Peru, Argentina, Mexic, pe astea le-am zărit, presupun că la toate e la fel. Și ceva ce am avut timp să studiez, cum se comportă în familie. Atât de agitați și răi cu copiii nu i-am mai văzut decât pe ai noștri când am aterizat la București. Sunt ei creduli și prostuți, copii de americani, dar măcar nu-s ignorați.

În Florida am locuit și mereu am vizitat prieteni vechi sau mi-am făcut prieteni noi, drept urmare, are un loc special în sufletul meu! Îl judec puțin mai dur, dar îl și apreciez enorm, așa că, să-mi criticați statul “cu mănuși”, că ne supărăm de nu!

English Version:

After a long day at the beach, in 2014 I admired the amazing sunset from the end of 1st St.

Now, it was the one in the Bay.

I’d go for the second one, because, I must admit, I loved it for the company I had. I might turn my traveling alone into visiting old friends all year round. I love observing how they live their life. How they open the fridge and see:

• Huge milk
• Cream cheese Great Value
• Sweet bread
• Beagles

How they have the corner market where they shop every day and how they go for the silence of their neighborhood, while living in Miami, 20 minutes away from the beach.

Let me describe now the restaurants as I found them. Are you rich or you just don’t care how much you spend for comfort and luxury? Plus, you better be over 30. Then I suggest, Lincoln Avenue. Any type of cuisine can be found here, obviously very expensive, but the entire boulevard does look fancy.

If you’re in your 20s, just enjoy Ocean Drive! Next to the ocean, the loud music and the huge happy crowd of teenagers just makes your day. I found there one of my favorite restaurants, Johnny Rockets, on 7th Street. Then on Washington Street or other streets perpendicular on the ocean, from 1^st to 16^th, you may find food to go like burritos, quesadillas or pizza. From the list of unhealthy treats, there’s Dunkin Donuts, MC Donald’s, Friday’s. I know you’d say, “yach, I want some good food”, but after you feel the smell everywhere, you’ll end up eating.

As markets, you’ll find Winn Dixie, CVS and 7elevens, on regular American prices.

Something else I saw only there so far! You can notice in a few minutes how many zeros their bank accounts have, because of what and where they eat, or how amazing they’re dressed or by looking at their shopping bags.

Lucky me, this was my morning view! My host is a great person! I owe him my great time over there. Tell me, wouldn’t you go jogging everyday just for the scenery?! I would.

FYI, people live on these boats, without paying a thing to the state. Anyone interested? If you can manage the high temperature …

My ex job now, made its presence felt, oh well, it still does. I stare at men dressed in suits, or at least a nice shirt, after all it is summer in Miami. It might sound selfish and maybe I’m acting as a spoiled girl, but I dream about a fancy diner of that kind someday.

Ocean Drive was conquered now by people of color, you know, spring break time. I love them!

Remember those 80’s movies when they were walking with the radio on the shoulder playing hip hop music, plus the pants down at their knees? Then the women with perfect feminine shapes, wearing shorts or jeans with the zipper lowered in front, walking full of confidence on high heels? The accent, even better, it’s a whole new experience just to share a table with them out there.

Miami can be for a family trip, a honeymoon, spring break, basically everything. A bit trashy and overcrowded, but a lot of fun comes hand in hand with a little mess!

What else? Ah, visit the crocodiles! All around the Everglades. Better rent a car, you can just stop whenever, there are bus tours, of course, I did it both ways.

Hello there, little guy!

It’s a 2 hour drive to Naples, then another 2 to Palm Beach. Check out the story here!

Key West, again at about 2 hours. I know you all want to go there. We all know about the cute colorful houses, whitest sand, but, sadly, it is the smallest beach on the coast. Amazing pictures, true. But reality is the farthest possible from it. Scuba diving with the corals can be done, that must be fun!

Bahamas should be added on the list! A cruise to Nassau can happen in a day, but I think a 3 days trip to the pink sand beach would be way better. Expensive, I won’t go into details, but for whom is interested I can help finding planes or boats deals, it’s on my must do list either way.

Clubs are everywhere, the best are next to the beach, but depends on the music you want or the crowd type. But be prepared to stay in line, for a looong long time.

Miami downtown hosts music or movie festivals, plus all type of concerts. The city is pretty for a one day walk.

I remember back then, when I went, right before Christmas, I got lost. Apart from the circle the air train does, it’s confusing around the streets if you want to find a specific place, I really think they even have the same length! I asked a guy for directions and we ended up walking around together for the rest of the day. He was from Australia, staying for holiday in one of the fanciest hotels there. The one with a huge pool at the last floor and a view of the skyline, plus the beach. Amazing, yeah, but extremely expensive too!

Fort Lauderdale/ Hollywood airport is nicer than Miami’s and in case you land there you have wifi and you can book a shared shuttle prior or post landing for 20 to 40$. You’re about 30 min away from Miami Beach.

MIA is huge, because of the high temperature not even the wifi works! Kidding, it just doesn’t, so don’t rely on it for any search. From this airport there’s a bus and a metro, both going to the beach or downtown for 2$, if I recall it well.

Miami is invaded by South Americans or Mexicans, so don’t be surprised if you hear Spanish rather than English. I have a big question. Do people really steal a lot on your flights down here?! Literally everyone was wrapping their, at least 4, bags, in plastic. I don’t get this one. If they want to search your bag, they do it, period. I was the only one around there with a “naked” bag. I can’t wait for a trip to Venezuela, Peru, Argentina or Mexico, see if it survives. In my time at the airport I studied families. Kids here are so naughty and noisy, parents just ignore them. Sadly, what I saw again, as soon as I landed in Bucharest. Not something you notice with Americans in general, though.

This is how apartment buildings surroundings look like. Life is easier by the beach, definitely.

I lived, I loved, I made new friends in Florida, so it has a special place in my heart. I judge it a lot, but I appreciate it, too. So careful when you say something bad about it! We might not be friends anymore. Ehh, just kidding, but handle the subject with care!
